Welcome to the Cellar Gallery - A unique gallery/studio that started in the converted cider cellar of the farmhouse and has recently moved upstairs to incorporate the picturesque old dairy. The Cellar Gallery houses a varied collection of paintings by artist Christine Hunt.Situated on a working organic hill farm surrounded by outstanding countryside. The gallery overlooks the dramatic Black Mountains separating England and Wales.
Christine uses many different media to achieve various styles of imagery, preferring more hands on methods to brushwork. She uses soft pastels to create atmospheric landscapes, to portray the spirit and personality of the farming community in her depictions of market characters and to create sensitive works featuring farm and other animals. Acrylics, oils, spray paints or whatever comes to hand are used by Christine in her exciting, vibrant expressionistic work.
The countryside, with its ever- changing moods and seasons, and her day to day experiences working on the farm are important sources of inspiration. Christine has exhibited her work all over England and Wales. In 2003 she was chosen as one of the top twenty-one selected artists to exhibit in the Hereford Art Week open exhibition. In the same year she was commissioned to paint a scene from the National Welsh Sheep Dog Trials to be presented to Prince Charles.
A warm welcome awaits you when you visit the gallery and its lovely courtyard gardens.
One visitor described the Cellar Gallery as "an oasis of colour, spirit and tranquility"
